NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS-INDIA: EDUCATION INITIATIVES

Introduction:

Providing meaningful Real Estate education to all its members is one of the main focal points of NAR-INDIA. Keeping this in mind, an ‘Education Committee’ has been created with members from various state associations, to design the methodology of imparting various education programme.

The philosophy of NAR-INDIA is that there shall be a clear qualitative difference between its members all across the country, and any other practicing real estate consultant; education shall be the first differentiator between the two.

The role of NAR-INDIA in the real estate education arena would be to:

»	Develop real estate education standards for various education providers in the country to adopt
»	Conduct various real estate programs
»	Certify real estate professionals across the country based on standardized education programs

Education Programs Conducted So Far :

Several Members of NAR-INDIA across the country have already been trained in various courses viz.,

1. Transnational Referral Course:

This course was conducted at Bangalore and was widely attended by members from all parts of the country. The course focused on providing the methodology for referring their clients to other brokers nationally and internationally, brokerage sharing aspects and related documentation.

2. Real Estate Brokerage Management Course:

This course was delivered in 3 cities namely Pune, Bangalore and Delhi. Ms Gail Lyons of IRPF, Chicago delivered the course in all the three cities and it was a huge success . The course focused on international best practices on management of brokerage firms and documentation.

3. Professional Valuation of Real Estate:

NAR-INDIA in association with USAID and IRPF conducted a course on Professional Valuation of Real Estate between 27th July 2009 to 12th August 2009 in 6 cities including Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune and Delhi. Over 500 real estate brokers attended the course and received international certification. The course was conducted by Mr.Gheorge Badescu, International Expert on Valuation.

With all these initiatives, and more to follow, NAR-INDIA is on the path to equiping its members with required skills to perform better and at the same time, show the customer, the qualitative difference between its members and other practicing consultants.
